Training opportunities are provided by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The trainings can be found here.

OhioMHAS provides in-person trainings around the state as well as web-based trainings. Home operators are required to receive 6 hours of mental health training and 6 hours of administrative training and all staff members are required to have 6 hours of mental health training for licensure. Other trainings that are required are:

Self-Administration of Medication
Fire and Other Disasters
Securing Medical and Psychiatric Assistance
Resident Rights and Grievance Procedures
Provision for the Reporting of Abuse and Neglect to Include: Children and Elderly

Every 2 Years
CPR and First-Aid
